About Us
Megargy Technology Works was born out of necessity and frustration with the cost and complexity of technology we needed to support Babylon.
In several areas, the market already offered capable products, but they were often designed for much broader requirements than ours. That meant more functionality and configuration than we needed, with pricing that was hard to justify for the relatively modest requirements and usage of a startup.
So we developed products to address those needs, with enough flexibility from the outset to be useful beyond Babylon.
Our approach is deliberately simple. Our products are designed to solve specific problems well, with sensible defaults and standardised configuration rather than extensive customisation. Our own day-to-day use continues to shape their development, helping us keep them simple to set up, straightforward to configure and easy to use. By avoiding unnecessary complexity, we can also keep our prices appropriate for startups and smaller companies.
Founder
Gary Kennedy is the founder of Babylon Financial Technology Ltd, the company behind Megargy Technology Works.
He has over 25 years of experience in financial technology and software development. He co-founded Clarus Financial Technology in 2012, which was acquired by ION in 2021, and holds a PhD in Pure Mathematics from Queen’s University Belfast.
Megargy reflects his preference for practical, focused software that solves real business problems without unnecessary complexity.
